Note: weekly hours are subject to changes without notice based on performance and rehearsal needs. All day programs participants are held to and must follow the policies and procedures outlined in MSAD’s student handbook.

ACADEMICS FOR DAY PROGRAM STUDENTS

• Parents are responsible for their child’s academic education, however MainStage can provide guidance.
• Online school and home-schooling are two options. Previous students have used Keystone School powered by K-12 which offers curriculum for K5-12th grade. These schools are NOT mandatory; families make their own decisions about what academic program best suits their child.
• The daily schedule is subject to change as the program progresses.

2.   Email info@mainstageacademyofdance.com ATTN:  VIDEO SUBMISSIONS. Be sure to include a link to your video (hosted on YouTube or Vimeo).

Video should be approximately 15 minutes in length with Female student in a black leotard, pink tights and hair in bun. Male students in fitted t- shirt and tights. Pointe work required only if you are currently on pointe.

Please NO VARIATIONS.

Deadline: Video audition deadlines have been eliminated.

VIDEO AUDITION GUIDELINES

Barre Exercises:

•  Two demi-pliés and one grand plié in first, second, and fifth positions
•  Tendu
•  Frappé
•  Piqué
•  Rond de Jambe (à terre & en l’air)
•  Développé
•  Grand Battement

Center Exercises:

•  Tendu Battement
•  Abbreviated Adagio (four 8-counts)
•  Single pirouette or Relevé Passé if pirouettes have not yet been learned
•  Petit Allegro
•  Brief Waltz across the floor (two 8-counts)
•  Boys Only: Big Jump or Tour en l’air

Pointe Exercises:

(only if you are currently on pointe)

• Students new to pointe show the following with two hands on the barre: Relevé, Échappé (from 2nd and 5th)
• Advanced students: Échappé, Turn and Diagonal combination

 

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES: 

MainStage Academy of Dance | School of Classical Ballet offers three annual productions: a Spring production, the beloved holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” and an end-of-summer showcase. These performances provide students with the chance to showcase their skills and apply what they’ve learned, enriching their dance education through active participation.

• Additionally, students can participate in prestigious competitions like the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and ABC/IBC, expanding their performance experiences even further.

 

TUITION:

Pricing for the 2024-2025 school year will be provided upon acceptance.

 

NOTE:

Parents of day program dancers are not permitted to stay and watch.

Student’s are to be dropped off 15 minutes before classes begin and promptly picked up after classes have concluded.
