Class Placement Discriptions

At MainStage Academy of Dance, our programs are designed to grow with your child offering a clear pathway from playful beginnings to advanced training.

Pre-Ballet (Ages 4–7)
Pre-Ballet is the first step in a child’s dance journey. Designed for ages 4-7, no prior dance experience is necessary. These classes spark a love of movement by combining fun with the fundamentals of ballet. Students develop coordination, posture, discipline, musicality, and spatial awareness in a playful and supportive setting.

Open Ballet (Ages 6–10)
As dancers grow, they can move from Pre-Ballet into Open Ballet. These classes build on early skills while introducing a stronger focus on proper technique. Dancers begin to develop strength, flexibility, and artistry, helping them gain the confidence and foundation needed for long-term success in ballet.

Academy Program (Ages 8 & Up, with Experience)
For dancers ready to take the next step, our Academy Program offers a more rigorous approach. Designed for ages 8 and up with some prior ballet experience, the program emphasizes refined technique and artistry. Students work toward the discipline, precision, and expression required for classical ballet performance and advanced study.
