Children’s Division
Pre-school:
This lighthearted, energetic program is designed to introduce our younger students to the different styles of dance offered at MainStage through combination classes. Children will learn basic dance steps and movements in subjects such as Tap & Ballet while working to develop their coordination, fine motor skills, and social skills.
Beginning & Continuing:
These programs will introduce our participants to Ballet and Hip-Hop classes that are specifically designed for younger ages. Beginning classes will expose dancers to the basic fundamentals of each genre beginning a focus on body alignment, strengthening, flexibility, and of course lots of fun!
Intermediate Levels:
Dancers that have completed our beginning and continuing levels may want to take their dancing to the next level. Intermediate starts that process by requiring minimum class participation and an audition for class placement. MainStage offers Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate 1 through 5, and Advanced 6 & 7. Pre-Professional:
MainStage Academy of Dance Pre-Professional Dance Program is for any qualifying student who would like to prepare for a career as a professional dancer/performer. Pre-professional students will attend Director Bray’s core training curriculum that includes Vaganova System Ballet, Pointe Variation, Lyrical & Hip-Hop. An audition for class placement and Director approval is required for admission into the program. Our Pre-Professional Program is designed to encourage and enable students to advance at a pace that matches their abilities, interests and time commitments. The more classes attended, the faster the student's growth and progress. Therefore, students with special potential and commitment are urged to take as many classes as they can.
